Listasafn Sigurjóns ÓlafssonarGuđrún Dalía Salómonsdóttir began piano studies in Reykjavík
at the age of nine with Steinunn Steindórsdóttir and Guđríđur St.
Sigurđardóttir. In 2003 she received an Erasmus scholarship to study one year at
Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, where Wan Ing
Ong was her teacher. She continued studying at the same school and will graduate
in June 2007.
Salómonsdóttir has
performed in masterclasses for Thérese Dussaut, Diane Andersen, Thomas Böckeler,
Klaus Kaufmann and Shoshana Rudiakov. In November 2006, she won first prize in
Iceland’s EPTA competition. She has given concerts in Iceland and Germany, both
as a soloist, in piano duos and with various chamber groups. This year she has
already given two solo concerts in Stuttgart, but this is her first solo
concert in Iceland.
