Hlíf Sigurjónsdóttir
stundađi framhaldsnám viđ Háskólana í Indiana og Toronto og viđ Listaskólann í
Banff og síđar sótti hún tíma hjá Gerald Beal í New York. Á námsárum sínum
kynntist hún og vann međ mörgum merkustu tónlistarmönnum síđustu aldar, ţar á
međal William Primrose, Zoltan Szekely, Gyorgy Sebok, Rucciero Ricci og Igor
Oistrach. Hún hefur leikiđ međ sinfóníuhljómsveitum, kammersveitum og minni
hópum og haldiđ fjölda einleikstónleika. Helstu tónleikar liđins árs voru í
Weill sal Carnegie Hall og í Washington borg, í röđinni The Embassy
Series. Hún vinnur nú einnig ađ upptökum á öllum einleiksverkum J.S. Bach

Sigurlaug Eđvaldsdóttir nam

fiđluleikari í New York borg og í Mexíkó, og frá hausti 1994 hefur hún leikiđ
međ Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands. Hún er eftirsóttur fiđluleikari og er félagi í

Guđrún Ţórarinsdóttir lauk
burtfararprófi frá Tónlistarskólanum á Akureyri 1980, fiđlukennaraprófi frá
Tónlistarskólanum í Reykjavík 1983 og einleikaraprófi ári síđar. Framhaldsnám
stundađi hún viđ Tónlistarháskólann í Aachen í Ţýskalandi frá 1984
til 87. Guđrún er fastráđin viđ Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands frá 2000 og leikur
einnig međ ýmsum hópum og kammersveitum. Hún hefur kennt á fiđlu og víólu síđan
á námsárum sínum.
Robert La Rue nam viđ
tónlistarháskólana The Curtis Institute of Music, The New England Conservatory,
Juilliard skólann og viđ Háskólann í Indiana. Áriđ 1992 hlaut hann fyrstu
verđlaun í sellókeppni ţar sem formađur dómnefndar var Mstislav Rostropovitch.
Síđan ţá hefur hann leikiđ einleik međ helstu sinfóníuhljómsveitum Bandaríkjanna
og komiđ fram sem einleikari, eđa í kammerflutningi, í mörgum af merkustu
tónleikasölum Bandaríkjanna. Robert hefur hljóđritađ fjölda diska fyrir Arsis.
Hljóđritun međ leik hans á 20. aldar einleiksverkum fyrir selló verđur brátt
gefinn út af North Branch Records.
Adrienne Kim stundađi
framhaldsnám viđ Háskólann í Indiana og síđar Manhattan School of Music hjá
Menahem Pressler og Leon Fleisher. Hún er eftirsóttur píanóleikari og hefur
haldiđ einleikstónleika í öllum helstu tónleikasölum Bandaríkjanna og spilađ

Hlíf Sigurjónsdóttir furthered her violin
studies at the Universities of Indiana and Toronto and the Banff School of Fine
Arts in Canada. During her studies she met some of the most respected musicians
of last century, including William Primrose, Zoltan Szekely, Gyorgy Sebok,
Rucciero Ricci and Igor Oistrach. Her last teacher was the late violin virtuoso
Gerald Beal in New York. She has performed extensively as a soloist and a
chamber musician. Her major performances last year were at the Carnegie, Weill
Recital Hall and in Washington, as a part of the Embassy Series. Besides
performing, she is giving private lessons in Reykjavík and NYC, masterclasses in
Spain, and currently she is recording J.S. Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for CDs
which will be released next winter.
Sigurlaug Eđvaldsdóttir, violin, studied
with Guđný Guđmundsdóttir in Reykjavík and with Ani Kavafian at the Manhattan
School of Music, N.Y. After playing with different ensembles in New York City
and in Mexico she has been a member of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra since
1994. She is very much sought after as a chamber musician and is a member of
various groups such as Reykjavík Chamber Orchestra, Caput and
Cammerarctica.
Guđrún Ţórarinsdóttir, viola, studied at
Akureyri Music school and the Music Academy of Reykjavík from where she received
a Solo diploma in 1994. From 1984 – 1987 she studied at the Hochschule für Musik
in Aachen, Germany. She is a member of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and
performs frequently with chamber groups and orchestras. She also teaches violin
and viola in Reykjavík.
Robert La Rue, cello, studied at The
Curtis Institute of Music, The New England Conservatory, the Juilliard School
and Indiana University. In 1992 he was a First Prize Winner of the National
Society of Arts and Letters Cello Competition, selected by a jury chaired by
Mstislav Rostropovitch. La Rue has appeared as a soloist with e.g. the American
Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of Phoenix, Seattle and Denver. He
has been heard as a chamber musician in many of America's principal concert
halls and has made numerous recordings for the Arsis label and a CD of
20th century compositions for solo cello is in production for North
Branch Records.
Pianist Adrienne Kim is much sought after as a performer and has
appeared as a soloist with several orchestras including Central Philharmonic
Orchestra of Beijing, the Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional de Mexico, the Portland
Chamber Orchestra, and the Richmond Orchestra. In 1998, Ms. Kim was one of five
musicians selected to join Chamber Music Society Two, The Chamber Music Society
of Lincoln Center's residency program for emerging young artists. Her recording
with Lisa Tipton violinist performing Violin Sonatas by Charles Ives will be
published on CD this spring.

Pianist ADRIENNE KIM has performed extensively as both soloist and
chamber musician. Recent performances include concerts in New York's Alice Tully
Hall, Merkin Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Boston's Symphony Hall, Washington D.C.'s
Phillips Gallery and Ravinia's Rising Stars series in Chicago. She has appeared
as soloist with several orchestras including the Central Philharmonic Orchestra
of Beijing, the Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional de Mexico, the Portland Chamber
Orchestra, and the Richmond Orchestra. As the pianist of TRIPTYCH, a
recently-formed piano trio, she has performed at Bargemusic, Queens College, and
the Sundays on the Island series. In 1998, Ms. Kim was one of five musicians
selected to join Chamber Music Society Two, The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln
Center's residency program for emerging young artists. She has performed with
David Shifrin, Daniel Phillips, Ida Kavafian, Edgar Meyer, Cho-Liang Lin, Fred
Sherry, Lucy Shelton, Wynton Marsalis, Paquito Rivera and members of the
Brentano, Borromeo, Cassatt, Mendelssohn, Meridian and Miami String Quartets.
Ms. Kim has also performed with the NewYork Chamber Ensemble, the Carnegie
Chamber Players and was pianist and director of the West End Chamber Ensemble
which performed throughout the United States, was ensemble-in-residence at the
North Carolina School of the Arts and participated in the National Endowment for
the Arts/Chamber Music America Rural Residency. Ms. Kim is dedicated to
performing new music and has performed on the Double Exposure series at Lincoln
Center, the Music Under Construction series, the Made in America series at Weill
Hall with Lisa Tipton, and is in residence at the Seal Bay Festival for American
chamber music. Her recording with violinist Lisa Tipton, of the sonatas of
Charles Ives, will be released in the spring. Ms. Kim studied with Menahem
Pressler and Leon Fleisher.

Robert La Rue was First Prize Winner of the
National Society of Arts and Letters Cello Competition, selected by a jury
chaired by Mstislav Rostropovitch. He has appeared as soloist with the American
Symphony Orchestra, the Banff Festival Orchestra, the Orchestra Society of
Philadelphia, and symphony orchestras in Phoenix, Seattle and Denver. Formerly
the cellist of the New England String Quartet, he has been heard as chamber
musician in many of America's principal concert halls, and recently served on
the faculty of Yale University's Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. He can be heard
in numerous recordings for the Arsis label; a disc of twentieth century
compositions for solo cello is currently in production for North Branch Records;
upcoming projects include specially-commissioned works for cello and voice by
American composers and a recording of Stanzas for Cello and Orchestra by Daron
Aric Hagen, both for release on the Albany label. A graduate of the Curtis
Institute of Music, the New England Conservatory (with Distinction), and the
Juilliard School, Mr. La Rue also attended the Indiana University School of
Music. His teachers have included Bernard Greenhouse, Laurence Lesser, Aldo
Parisot, David Soyer, Janos Starker, and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi (whose teaching
assistant he was for four years). He was born in Washington, D.C. and currently
lives in New York City, where he performs regularly with the Absolute Ensemble,
the American Ballet Theatre, the American Composers Orchestra, the Brooklyn
Philharmonic, the American Symphony Orchestra, and numerous others.
