The Museum is housed in the white large building close to the ocean at the Laugarnes Peninsula, Reykjavík. Bus Lines 12 (station LHÍ Laugar­nesi) and 16 (station Héðins­gata) are the bus lines closest to the museum. The bus' search engine only accepts the destination in Icelandic, such: "Listasafn Sigurjóns Ólafssonar" Also, it is an easy walk − less than 30 minutes − on the path along the coast from the center of Reykjavík to the Museum.
